On Saturday, May 22, Brett Hersh, President of HBS Tax and of Growth Strategies, LLC, participated in the Law Enforcement “Torch Run” for Special Olympics. The 8.3 mile run started near Hedgesville High School and culminated with the lighting of the Olympic Flame at Martinsburg High School.
Several dozen runners participated including; WV State Troopers, Berkeley County Deputies, and Martinsburg City Police officers, members of the ATF, as well as their friends and family.
“It was an honor to participate in this inspirational event,” said Hersh, “The run is just another example of the law enforcement community going out of their way to serve their neighbors. The excitement and cheers of the Olympic Athletes as we entered Martinsburg Stadium made it well worth the workout.”
The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is a world-wide, awareness-raising event. In 2008 more than 85,000 law enforcement officers participated across 35 nations. For more information visit http://www.specialolympics.org.
